The Bible is the food of life
Hope in our God. In this world if a person has no hope in life, there will be no more life.
Humans have hope, but do we have the hope in God? Encourage everyone to hope in the Lord.
He is even better than what we personally hope for.
1. Hope in what?
The promise from God
The love from God
Psalm 40:1-3 The Song from David explains it
God is waiting, God will answer our prayers, God will set our feet on a rock. Psalm 30:5-7
1.1 I will wait for the Lord.... The Lord is unfailing in love..and with Him we find full redemption.
We may have many hardships and are waiting for God to help. God is our answer to our hope.
1.2 Proverbs 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a lovingly fulfilled
is a tree of life"
1.3 Proverbs 3:27-28
God may be using us as the answers to some other people`s hope.
If we reply quickly we can give hope to this person.
A rich person was preparing to receive Jesus as a guest. 3 people came to visit him and were turned away..
a beggar, a man in need etc... actually Jesus visited him as these three people and was turned away.
1.4 Psalm 68:5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.
2. Hope in the Lord fully
Even if we are disappointed, we will never be sorry.
Romans 5:1-11 Hoping in the Lord and trusting in the Lord
2.1 We have peace in the Lord once we accept Christ.
We may not have trust amongst humans but the peace and joy and happiness from The Lord is indescribable.
The peace and joy from God is already thereWe have to let it surface and not be hidden
by our other desires and false hopes of this world.
Hope in the people Matthew 11:4-6
- Hope from God gives hope to those who are helpless
- the blind can see, the leprosy gets cleansed, the lame can walk.
2.2 God uses us to be the answer to the hopes of these people Mark 10:46-52
Blind Bartimaeus receives his sight. The blanket that he gave up represents the fact that he threw
away his old life as he wants the new life that is blessed from God.
3. Do we have any old blankets in our lives that we have to clear away?
Questions to answer:
1) What kind of hope do we have in life? and that need answers? We
should continue to have hope in Jesus.
2) How does hope in God help us to run our lives daily?
