Hope in Jesus

1 Thessalonians 5:8

Question: what hope do we have?

Paul to the Thessalonians:

"But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet"

Today we believe in Jesus what kind of life will we have?

To Christians the hope is salvation. And to the coming of Jesus.

Isaiah 59:17

We belong to the day and we cannot be drunk and lose consciousness

(Drunken on other things in life and make us lose control) example power, money, Fame etc

Paul wants us to be conscious.

We need to be conscious so that God will help us

Be full of faith and love (love as a breastplate)

Salvation as a helmet.

Doing everything in the hope for Jesus.

Why do we need to wear a helmet for hope?

1) we hope when we experience threats.

Prophet Paul always in threats, in Philippi in thessalonica he was put into jail.

2) when we face miseries and problems.
