The story of person who is able to find happiness in every situation.
Habakkuk has two things that are different from other people
1) Habakkuk never blame Israel for his problems
2) he listens to what God says and do not use his voice to speak and represent God. He got his answers from God.
Ever we learn from his book is the way he expresses himself and the way he questions the different facets of life.
His question is in such a complicated world, God is still really good? He answers that even if the world is very difficult and chaotic, he will continue to believe in God.
God tells him that he will still receive good things even in this terrible world.
2 Corinthians 5:7
What we see today may not be good, but our faith will help us believe that there are still good things.
How to find happiness?
1) Understand what is real happiness
God tells him what is real happiness.
Habakkuk initially understood real happiness as getting what he wants. Such as a good person will get good things and the bad person will be punished.
Explains that the real happiness that God gives is something beyond what we expect or understand.
God allowed Israel to be punished by the Babylonians but the happiness that comes after the lesson is also valuable.
We me eat something that is not delicious but on the other hand there are millions of people in this world who have nothing to eat.
We may have a pair of shoes that hurts husband we walk, on the other hand down many people without shoes. The fact that we have pain shows that we have feet that can walk...
Our brain is created to help us in solving problems and not to use it to think why we have problems.
2) understand the context in having happiness.
Happiness do not happen all the time but in specific periods.
It`s to the specialness of the happiness.
And find happiness in many situations within the context.
We will be able to accept disappointments because we understand the context of happiness.
Philippians 4:12-13
2 Corinthians 7:4
4 types of people with happiness
1. A runner who`s always running towards happiness
2. A person who enjoys happiness before anything else.. lives for the present
3. A person who wallows in past happiness
4. A person who truly understands happiness. Do something good for oneself.
3) Start planning happiness for other people.
Habakkuk uses his messages to use as lyrics for songs that will bring comfort to people who hears them.
Acts 20:35
