Complete Change after meeting Jesus (Acts 9:1-25)

How do we meet God? By leaving behind our previous lives, accept Jesus as our personal savior and
move forward in life walking in faith.

How did Saul change?

1. From being a tiger to becoming a kitten. (1, 5) Stephen was stoned to death as stained clothes put in front
of Saul. Jesus asked Saul, why do you persecute me? After meeting Jesus, he asked, who are you, Lord?
All of Saul`s poison is dissolved after his meeting with Jesus. If a person does not change after accepting Jesus,
it will be strange because after meeting Jesus, we will change.

2) From making of own decisions to following the will of God (2,6)
There will be a change in the way of thinking. We may have our own plans but once we meet God, our
plans are changed and we ask God what are His plans for us. We follow the will of God.

3) From being a proud person to a humble person (2,5)  Saul thinks he`s the smallest of Christians,
the last of all the disciples, and Saul teaches us to be humble. Ephesians 3:8 " Although I am less than the
least of all the Lord`s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ."

4) From Persecuting Christians to becoming a Christian missionary (6,10,15) Why did Jesus have to go the long way?
To teach Saul listen and follow His words.

5) From being against Jesus to Praying to Jesus (11)  We we love someone, its natural that we will want to talk
to that person. Saul starts to love Jesus, and he wants to pray and be close to Jesus.

6) Saul was baptized and received the Holy Spirit ((17-18) Everyone should want to be baptized and to receive the Holy Spirit.
Some believers don`t want to be baptized. This is not taught by Jesus. It is normal for Christians to want to be
baptized and to receive the Holy Spirit.

7) Becoming a testimony for Christ (20) Person who meets Jesus and His love will be excited to share to others.
We will have many testimonies to share.

8) Relying on other Christians (26) Have fellowship with Christians. Even Saul had to be put in a basket and lowered
through an opening in a wall, to escape people who persecute him. Jesus teaches him to lean and rely on Christians
by removing his ego.

9) Studying the Bible seriously (Galatians 1:17-18) Saul disappeared to Arabia for 3 years to study the Bible.
Christians will be eager to study the Bible and learn the will of God. Paul was used by God to become a teacher, so
he had to study the Bible.

10) Saul tries to get close to the disciples (Acts 9:26) Being close to other disciples will teach us how to live a life resembling
Jesus. We learn not to find fault with other people. Paul did not feel angry with disciples for doubting and fearing him.
Paul was humble and accepting.

Additional questions for discussion during online cell group meetings

1. How did you show your excitement when you first met Jesus?
2. Why did Jesus say, "those we see me believes me, but what about those who did not see me and yet believe me,
will they be even more blessed?"
