Delegation, Authority and Submission ( Romans 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:13-14; 18; 3)
Background Psalm 103:19 God Governs everything, everything is under the power of God. At the last chapter of the Bible, we see that God is emerges
as the ultimate winner.

1.God controls through His laws To control what we own, there is a need for rules and laws. God controls through His laws too. For things without choices, such
as trees and animals, God uses the Law of Nature. For humans, we have a soul and can make choices, can think and create new things, we have initiative
and know right from wrong. How does God rule?
1.1 God controls and protects directly. (Romans 2:5-11)
1.2 God delegates authority to others to rule us (Romans 13:1,4) God authorizes the governors to rule us. God gives them the power directly, and God is
using them to serve Him. God lets them punish us when we make mistakes.
How should we submit to authorities (Rules under delegated power) Colossians 3:19-24)

1. Everything.                 2. With a sincere heart                3. with complete submission                    4. Like we are giving respect and submitting to God.
1.2.1) Parents and Child (Ephesians 6:1) Children should obey and submit to parents. If they do not, they are rebels. It is God`s will
and when we obey, we will be blessed with a long life, and receive many blessings.
1.2.2) Husband and Wife ( Ephesians 5:22-23) Salvation is for everyone, there is no gender differences. Under marriage, the Man is the Head of
the household and the wife should submit to the husband.
1.2.3) Master and Slave (1 Peter 2:18)  A slave have to submit to the master even if the master is bad
1.2.4) Governor and Inhabitants (1 Peter 2: 13-14) Example of Roman Caesar as governor. When asked, Jesus replied that since Caesar`s face
appears on the coin, whatever that belongs to him we have to give it to him, such as taxes. But whatever belongs to God, we give to God.
1.2.5)  Pastor and church members (Hebrews 13:7) The pastor protects our Christian Spirit.

Benefits of Delegation:
1. For ourselves
2. For Knowledge and Skills. Under our parents we learn many things in life.
3. Gets protection
4. Gets authority to run things whom we submit to
5.  Have Unity
6. Suitable to be a leader. A good parent actually use listen to their parents on how to be a good parent.
7. God will reward. (Colossians 3:24)

Questions for Cell group discussion
1. Is it true that children finds it easier to listen to their parents than to rulers and others? Why?
2.If we don`t agree with our leaders, how do we follow their rules?
