Let you speak, not to strike!
1) Number 20:3 They quarreled with Moses and said, “If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the Lord!
2) Want to Die (Numbers 16:33) They went down alive into the realm of the dead, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community.
3) Because there are no rice, figs, grapes and pomegranates.
4) God told them (Numbers 20:8) “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together.
Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.”
5) What Moses did (Numbers 20:11) Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.
6) God Rebukes (Numbers 20: 12) But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight
of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.”
Lessons to Learn
1. God provides the water, Not Moses (Numbers 20:10)
2. We have to control our emotions and temper (Numbers 20:11)
3. Do not take credit for things but show the truth
