The Power of the Cross (1 Corinthians 1:22-31)

"Everyone in this world want to have a winning life, a life that make the right choices and with full of confidence, whether it is in this world or another world."
We can still win even if our life is problematic. Look at the believers in Corinth. It is a center for business, with good retail, and has rivers with boats for transportation.
The Greeks are well learned and have good education. However, it is a city with many temples that are filled with female prostitutes. Therefore it is a sinful city.

Believers in Corinth
People who turned to God are those who are poor, troubled, not the rich and wealthy. For Thailand, God will open doors for people of all levels, especially the people without status.
From Jesus` 12 disciples, we see that they are poor, with a tax-collector, fishermen etc. The only one educated was Judas Iscariot.
Three types of people were exposed to Jesus.
1. The Jews  Matthew 16:1
2. Foreigners example the Greeks
3. The common people who believed in Christ.
The Jews saw Jesus performed miracles, but do not believe. They do not want someone like that. They want a King who can give them the Promised Land, and they do not accept the Cross.
The Greeks believed in knowledge and wisdom. John 1:14. They also cannot accept the crucifix, and also the fact that Jesus walks and talks to them like a commoner.
The third group of people believed in Jesus  1 Corinthians 1:26

The Crucifix helps believers
1.  He was the One who took away our sins. His death paid for our sins. Romans 6:23
God is fair to us. We have to stop sinning because we love the cross. "For the wages of sin is death..."
2. It cleanses us: Sanctification.  Romans 6:1-2   Help us to know what is wrong, and God continue to remind us of our sins through the cross.
3. Remind us that the righteous do not sin.  Romans 8:32  When we believe we receive everything good that God gives and prepared for us
4. He gives us wisdom   John 4:6/ John 8:12   We will not walk in the dark but in the light.  God opens the door for everyone to believe and we
will receive wisdom, righteousness and cleansing of our sins.
