Do you love me?  (John 21:15-19)
By Mr. Supachai Sutkanha

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.

Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.  Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted;
but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.”
Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!”

1. Peter has told Jesus that he will follow Jesus and die for Jesus, but one time he has denied Jesus a total of 3 times. Before the denial,
Jesus Has said to Peter that he will deny Jesus three times, but Peter insisted he will die for J, but in the end he really denied Jesus 3 times.
He was very upset with himself and went outside to weep. If we are Peter, how will we feel? Why did Peter commit this mistake?
Jesus asked Peter 3 times whether Peter loves Him. It was used as a confirmation of Peter`s love and not to find fault with Peter.
Have we also promised Jesus that we love Him and will lead a clean life? Have we ever fallen and fail? If we try and fall and fail,
it`s better than not ng to do at all and fail. If we fail and try to pick up by ourselves, it will be impossible. However, if we do it through
God`s help and guidance, we can pick up ourselves and start a new.

2. Do you love me more? Peter`s livelihood is as a fisherman. Jesus told him that instead of fishes, Peter will catch people, Jesus ask
Peter if he loves those things more.. it refers to us as well. we ask ourselves of we love the material things in this world more? Jesus
is reminding us to question ourselves. If we are familiar and close to God, we will have good relations with other people too, because
what we have with God is correct.

3. Do you love me? Serving God with the right motives. That we receive God`s calling. Jesus ask Peter to serve God with the love
he has for God. It does not matter how we have rejected God bore, today God gives us the opportunity to serve Him through our
love we have for Him.
