Friday Prayer Meeting 13 May 2022

Speaker: Mr. Weeraphol
I have decided, to follow Jesus  John 21:15-23

Jesus, the son of God, came down to the earth, and had to be crucified on the cross for our sins.
On the third day he rose, triumphed over our sins and broke the barrier and brought us close to God.
After that Jesus used a time span of 40 days to spend time with His disciples.
Peter was a fisherman, and Jesus changed his life. Peter is called Simon, name of a type of tree.
People also call him Syra. Peter was a hot headed person who reacts fast and thinks fast.
He was very close to Jesus and worked very closely with Jesus.
Jesus asked Peter to walk on the water, but Peter doubted the Lord and sank into the water
In Matthew 14 :29-30
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Accepting that Jesus is Lord  Matthew 16:16
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Rejected Jesus three times before the cock crowed.
Peter and disciples met up with Jesus again in John 21
Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Galilee.[a] It happened this way:
Simon Peter, Thomas (also known as Didymus[b]), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together.
“I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.
After a meal Jesus asked Peter:
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
Jesus instructed Peter to take care of the sheep, referring to the believers in terms of their spirit and their lives
with the help of the bible.

Summary
in John 21: 19-21 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!”
20 Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them.
(This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?”)
21 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”
1) Follow Jesus, throw away the old life and follow Him
2) When we decide to follow Jesus, throw away our past and let the Lord be the boss of our life and follow Him with faith
