WORSHIP 2

Our thinking is not like our Lord`s thinking
1Samuel 16: 1-14
Speaker: Ajarn Suchart

To know what God thinks, what God thinks about us, and what God thinks about others. The Bible records many instances and examples.
Gus thinking is not difficult to understand it`s very clear and very straightforward.
The thinking of the world is opposite of the thinking of God.

Even the thinking of older people and the younger generation are different.
However when adults make mistakes, they should also apologize. When the offsprings do wrong, they should also apologize.

Isaiah 55:8-9

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts then your thoughts.
We should all aim to have the same thinking as God
God allows us to have our own thinking and not act like robots.
We have the choice to make our own thinking and how we want to run our lives.
We are always ask God what he thinks of the thing things that we are experiencing
Sometimes we may think the wrong way so we leave God and the Holy Spirit to lead us every time.
We can ask God if it is God`s decision how would He let us handle the situation.

Whatever we are thinking and deciding it has to go hand in hand with God`s decisions. This way we will be able to walk the right way.

1 Samuel 16:1-13
Example that shows us how our thinking can be identical to God`s thinking.

God has decided to remove Saul from Kings ship. Samuel knows that God will be appointing a new person
Got asked Samuel why is he troubled by Saul
Then got tell Samuel to get ready and fill up the oil
Got a Samuel to go to Jesse`s house in Bethlehem
Samuel is afraid that if Saul finds out Samuel will be killed by him
God told Samuel not to worry and to take a Heifer and offer it as sacrifice to the Lord and invite Jesse to the sacrifice
Samuel knows that God wants him to set up a new king
When Samuel arrives the people were worried about what`s going to happen
Samuel doesn`t know how many children Jesse has and also that God will use him to take one of Jesse`s son to be the new king
The same way when we serve the Lord we do not know what we may have to do in the future but we have confidence in Him and trust in Him

Jesse showed Samuel his sons. The first son Samuel already was convinced but God told him not to look at the physical appearance
God teaches us not to use our eyes to see the external.
Look on the inside not the external
The heart of the person is there humility, is there repentance, is the person teachable. Got told Samuel that he`s thinking is different from God`s thinking from the way he chose to anoint the new king.
Upon hearing this Samuel changed his way of thinking and he finally picked David.

(Wrong) Thinking of Samuel
1) look at the exterior and use it to decide
- God wants us to look at our heart.
2) Height in stature

How God picks people to serve Him
1) no need to be highly educated
2) no need to be attractive personality
3) no need status
4) no need famous name
5) no need to be goodlooking
Just need people with the heart to serve God.
