He also said, this is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground.
Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seat sprouts and grows, though he does not know why.
All by itself the soil produces grain- first the stock, then the head, then the full kernel in the head.
As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.
This is what Jesus related to his disciples.
The past 3 years we faced many hardships.
Because we met many hardships over the years it seems to become even more difficult to spread the gospel to the people.
But Jesus says it is the time to harvest.
It`s the time where we have the chance to help people to get close to Jesus.
1) The kingdom of God, what do they mean by this? And who are eligible to enter the kingdom of God? How are the steps needed to enter this Kingdom? Who is it that determines these steps?
Kingdom of heaven= the church
Kingdom of Heaven=Jesus Christ
Jesus gives permission to the people who can enter the kingdom of heaven.
Give Jesus does not give the permission no one can enter the kingdom of heaven.
Today if we do not believe in Jesus in God then we will be outside, left behind.
The only way to enter the Kingdom of Heaven is to believe in jesus, and to invite Jesus into their lives, and have a personal relationship with Jesus.
And understand that God is the creator of the world and heavens.
John 1:29
The next day John saw Jesus coming towards him and said, "look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
John is the relative of Jesus.
Jesus came into the world so that we can conquer our sins.
So that we can have the peace.
Jesus came down to Earth to take the place of our sins by dying on the cross.
2) The Sowers (Believers)
When we become believers and enter into the kingdom of God, to be automatically become the sowers to try to spread the gospel of Jesus.
It is comparing to the fact that a believer goes out and sows the seeds onto the ground.
Some people say that they do not have the talent to spread the gospel, August says that they do not have the time and they have to go out to work.
But as believers we are all sowers.
When we talk to others and share our experiences and testimonies we are actually sowing the seeds for God to be planted.
Sowers are usually very industrious, they wake up in the morning and goes out to sow the seeds onto the ground.
How about us? Do we sow the seeds to our friends, to our relatives, to our family, to our colleagues at work?
Romans 10:17
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
People will hear about God only if there are sowers. So we have to be the sowers for God.
The people, some of them may not be interested now, but always remind them that when they are sick when they are in need of help always turn to God and God will answer them. Sow the seeds and when they are in trouble they may remember your words and turn to God.
3) The Process
V. 27. Once we sow the seeds, the person who will make it sprout and grow is above us! God will take care of it. One day they will turn to God. We just saw the seeds and rely on God to do the processing. We do not sow the seeds how does God make the seed grow?
After we sow the seeds, we give them some time for the seeds to grow. Just like a farmer. They need to wait for the seeds to grow into plants. We don`t have to worry, just leave it to God.
Our job is just to be good sowers of seeds.
4) harvesting the crop
It is the sowers` job also to do the harvesting.
John 4:35-36
Don`t you have a saying, it`s still 4 months until harvest? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are right for harvest.
Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sowers and the reapers may be glad together.
Those who do the sowing and the reaping and harvesting will receive a wage.
