One of the 12 disciples

John rotis name and says he is the disciple that Jesus loves. (Everyone else did agree)

Jesus loves him as he is obedient.

John wrote five books of the Bible.

He lived the longest amongst the disciples.

 

Why did Jesus love John?

1) he makes firm decisions

Mark 1.19-20

Jesus calls out to him and he followed Jesus immediately

Jesus loves people who gives the heart to God completely.

 

2) teachable. Mark 2.13

Jesus chose disciples for their teachability.

Jesus has a mission for them.

Jesus knows their ability and mission.

3) need to have personal experience

1 John 1:37-39

Personal experience with God.

John was the first to reach the tomb, before Peter.

 

4) wants others to believe in God too

Luke 9.53 to 55

John wanted people to believe and follow Jesus. He was full of fire.

 

5) John is humble.

 

6) John has love and faith in Jesus

 

7) John wants to know Jesus as much as possible. To get close to Jesus

John was the narrator of turning water to wine.

Many incidents in the Bible and he wrote many recordings.

John heard Jesus praying at the garden of Gethsemane.
