Human`s way of thinking versus God`s way of thinking  (Matthew 16: 21-27)
Speaker: K. Kitti Aeamwijit

Jesus criticized Peter severely, that he has a way of thinking that is different from God.
His wrong way of thinking creates barriers to God, and have to change his way of thinking.

To win, or to deny themselves? ( Matthew 16:24-25)
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”  Matthew 16:16

Isaiah 9:6-7  For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,  and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Our way of thinking, and denying ourselves for God
It is a natural reaction of Christians to deny ourselves after we start serving the Lord.
Victories happen after the sacrifice and denials are made.
People sees that it is "stupid" to give up on the great things in life, and to surrender ourselves to God.
Following Jesus is not a job. It is something that we do for God, and it`s a natural thing to do if we
love God and have changed over a new life.

After following Jesus, what do we get in return? (Matthew 20:1-16)  The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard
The eyes of the disciples should not be fixed on the rewards for following Jesus. It is up to Jesus to give,
as part of the reward from Jesus.
3 ways to help us change our way of thinking to be in conjunction with God
1) What the Bible tells us
2) What decisions Jesus made for us
3) The Holy Spirit will guide us.
